Course Description
Having hosted many R&A events throughout its history as well as being an Open Championship final qualifying venue, Barassie is proud to be the host venue for the 2020 R&A Womens Amateur Championship.
With this portfolio of tournaments there can be no doubting the pedigree of Kilmarnock (Barassie) Golf Club.
Founded in 1887, it takes up residence on the golf-rich Ayrshire coast and, despite some illustrious company, its course more than holds its own as a formidable and enjoyable test of golf. It has everything that you would expect of a classic links: humps, hollows, swailes, blind shots, quick greens and, of course, all the hazards you would expect from a quality, championship-standard course of this ilk.
A venue that is famous for its unrelentingly warm welcome, golfers can follow in the footsteps of the Molinari brothers, Jon Rahm, Rory McIlroy, Graeme McDowell and Jose Maria Olazabal who have all played the Barassie Links.
With beautiful views and great catering, time spent at Barassie Golf Club is time well spent.
