Captains drive-in at Mount Pleasant

MOUNT PLEASANT Golf Club recently held its traditional drive-in, welcoming the new captains of 2019/2020.

Incoming club captain, Luke Fensome, struck the ceremonial first tee shot at 10am, followed by seniors captain Paul Gilbert and finally junior captain Jenifer Webb-Tocha, who was filling in for the absent ladies captain, Alison Stroomer.

Following the captains’ drives, 60 players took part in a foursomes stableford competition, played over nine holes, which was won by Matt Goddard and Ian Comerford. This year’s captains’ chosen charities are Cystic Fybrosis Trust and Lymphoma Action.

The year 2019 looks to be an exciting year with the continued development of the course extension, while the virtual golf centre is all systems go. The practice nets are back up and the pro shop is stocked with all the latest FootJoy and Titleist clothing and accessories at very competitive prices.
