Terrain aeration has produced a new video that shows how to alleviate golf course compaction and drainage issues.
The Suffolk-based company uses the proven Terralift system that has been in operation for more than 25 years. It penetrates the ground to a depth of one metre and is said to be vital after a long, hot summer – which much of the UK has enjoyed – as when rain comes, areas of turf compaction and panning become evident with stretches of standing water.
Normal aeration and scarifying are essential to promoting a healthy sward but the penetration isn’t said to deep enough to get to where the problem lies. Going down a metre with a hollow probe fractures the soil, creating and opening up fissures that helps drainage.
