Dryburgh makes birdie pledge for Alzheimer’s

SCOTTISH GOLFER Gemma Dryburgh has pledged to donate £20 to the Alzheimer’s Society for every birdie she makes in the Cognizant Founders Cup.

The money will go towards research for the condition, something that has personally impacted Dryburgh, whose grandmother was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in February 2020.

“She’s always been very involved with my golf, always keeping up,” said Dryburgh. ”When I played soccer, (my grandparents) always used to come to my games. It’s obviously harder with golf because there’s more traveling but she and my grandpa were always there supporting,” she added.

Dryburgh recently also qualified for the Women’s US Open, which will be played at Pine Needles Country Club.
