Entries are now being taken for the event, which began back in 1909 and has only been interrupted by the war years.
The scenic course is the perfect setting for the event, and with £2,500 in prize money available, the competition is set for a memorable centenary year celebration.
“It must be among the oldest open competitions in Scottish golf and the silver trophy is very impressive,” said John Brydone, former secretary turned competitor.
“There have been many fine golfers playing and the finals used to attract 2,000 spectators.”
