GREIG HUTCHEON, Adam Keogh and Simon Thornton have been confirmed as the first three players to seal their place in the prestigious PGA Cup team.
The British pros are the first to be confirmed in the ten-man team, which will head to Foxhills Club and Resort in Surrey to take on a team of their American counterparts.
Hutcheon, from Torphins in Aberdeenshire, represented the team in 2017, where he famously holed the winning putt. That year, the event was also at Foxhills in Surrey, and Hutcheon will be hoping for more success.
“The standard is high so to make a third appearance for Great Britain & Ireland will be fantastic,” Hutcheon said.
“I’ve experienced playing in the event before and for us PGA Professionals, it’s the next best thing to playing in the Ryder Cup. It’s very competitive so I’m really looking forward to it.”
Meanwhile, Thornton and Keogh will both be newcomers to the team, and both confirmed getting into the team was their main goal at the start of the year.
Team captain DJ Russell commented: “Through the team you need a bit of everything – youth and experience – so I’m delighted with the first three players, I couldn’t have picked three better players.”
