Following the grand opening of Adare Manor in County Limerick, the club has added a dining experience to complement the course, reports David Hayhoe.
The Carriage House will allow guests to enjoy the facilities both pre and post-round, and will further boost the chances of the J.P. McManus-owned course hosting the 2026 Ryder Cup.
The new facilities include an artisan grill experience, cocktail bar and lounge along with a terrace, which match the standards of the newly renovated course, designed by Tom Fazio.
Paul Heery, the general manager, said he was pleased to the “finishing touches” to the resort.
“Every detail complements the views of the surrounding landscape of the Adare Manor estate and newly reopened golf course. We have received huge local support, and with the opening of The Carriage House, we look forward to now offering a new guest experience.”
The grand re-opening of the course – attended by UK Club Golfer – took place earlier this year, with a star-studded cast taking part in the event.
Rory McIlroy and Paul McGinley took on the pairing of Padraig Harrington and Shane Lowry to help raise money for local charities and to help publicise the launch.
Harrington is, in fact, a winner at Adare, when he defeated Bradley Dredge in a play-off to win the 2007 Irish Open.
Course designer Fazio, as a result of Harrington’s success at the venue, sought the advice of the three-time major champion on the layout of the new course.
Harrington said: “For the most part we were both on the same page.
“As a player, I would turn up at a golf course and it is very easy to play 18 holes and see something on the course that you may think is wrong and that you like to change.
“To listen to Tom and understand his expertise when it comes to golf course design has been a strong learning point for me.”
The Fazio Design and Adare Manor teams have created a 7,509 yard championship golf course, which is believed to rival the most prestigious courses in the world.
